How can I reset SMC on a MacBook Pro?

Quote

The procedure for resetting the SMC on a MacBook Pro varies depending on whether it is an Apple silicon machine or an Intel-based machine.

For Apple silicon machines, shut down the MacBook Pro and wait for 30 seconds before turning it back on. The reset SMC is automatically handled by the system.

For Intel-based machines with a non-removable battery, shut down the MacBook and press and hold Shift + Control + Option (left side) + Power button for 10 seconds. Release all keys and turn it back on.

For most newer models with a T2 chip, you just need to shut down, then hold Control + Option + Shift (right side) for 7 seconds, add the power button for another 7 seconds, then release and turn it back on. If the issue still continues after reset, it could be related to the charger or battery itself.
