Could function keys on my laptop accidentally disable the cursor? Which keys should I check?

Yes, function keys can accidentally lead to cursor disappears. Check these keys :
- Fn + F5/F6/F7/F9/F12 (varies by laptop brand, look for a touchpad icon)
- Fn + Esc
